Synopsis
The hum of a motorbike. The uproar of the crowd in the stadium. The cheering and clapping. All fell silent... Just the thumping of their hearts remained and a question - Were they going to lose him?
Thanks to the makeover by her sisters friends, the nerdy Niharika entered college more confident, more attractive. She meets the sweet, shy Tanmay, and the spoilt but lovely Pia and they become best friends. And when Akshat and she began dating, life finally seemed to be falling in place.
Except that it wasn't...
Tanmay's success in football had begun to change him. Akshat's perfection seemed like a front for something dark and sinister. And their college senior Karthik? His aggressiveness was a cover for his mysterious past.
Someone Like You is a powerful and touching story of friendship, love and betrayal.

Review
Someone like you is a story about a girl Niharika Singh, who never thought herself beautiful as other girls until she was in the school. Her sister- Simran does a whole make over to her which helps to gain confidence in her college life. Niharika goes to college in a whole new city where she meet her room mate- Pia. Charming and sensitive, in a long distance relationship with Vishal. Being room mates, they end up as being best friends. Furthermore, Niharika meets three different boys- Tanmay, Karthik and Akshat. Tanmay ends up as her best friend. Karthik was a very different character who was a mysterious guy for her life and always remained confused about him. Akshat was her sister Simran's ex boyfriend whom she find weird to date.
The story is totally character based story with many different personalities, thoughts and experiences in their lives. The story has many twists and plots. The climax in the story is beautiful and balanced as the whole book is. The whole book is perfect. I never imagined such intense level of plots in a story all of a sudden. How they end up being in a single plot is what makes me keep turning the pages. Do read the book to enjoy one of the best works of romantic author The Durjoy Dutta.
But most importantly, what I learnt from this book is that we should never judge or trust someone without knowing them or without much experience. We never know the different shades of the person; sometimes its grey, sometimes its black or white.
